Abstract

<jats:p>This article reports a case of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in an immunocompromised female patient. The usefulness of cytology, as well as histology, is described, with special reference to JC polyomavirus‐infected oligodendrocytes and JC polyomavirus‐infected astrocytes.</jats:p>
