<jats:p>This report treats the free and forced vibrations of infinitely long, thick and thin cylindrical shells surrounded by water. Exact elasticity theory is used to treat unpressurized shells and an approximate shell theory is employed to treat the effects of static pressure, internal fluid, and structural damping. Comparisons are made between the results of the exact and approximate theories.</jats:p>
