Description
We read Kuribayashi's letter entitled "Possible causes of a focal esophageal muscle defect1) ". In our case2) , EUS and CT were not performed before ESD, but no evidence of diverticulum was found on endoscopy. Except for this paper2) , three reports have described localized muscular defect during ESD3-5) . Nevertheless, no preoperative EUS or CT has been presented. In addition, Kuribayashi described that "If a large muscular defect is either congenital or acquired, it should cause a diverticulum."
