Cooperativity and coverage dependent molecular desorption in self-assembled monolayers: computational case study with coronene on Au(111) and HOPG

<p>Molecular desorption energy in non-covalent SAMs is conventionally determined to be a solitary value. To the contrary, we show that the desorption energies are variable, coverage dependent and cooperative using coronene adsorbate and HOPG, Au(111) substrates.</p>
