説明

Abstract
Silver sulfamate was used in place of silver nitrate as argentation and charring reagent in thin layer chromatography (TLC). This reagent permits thin layer chromatographic separations of fatty acid esters with differing degrees of unsaturation as well as ofcis/trans isomeric fatty acids, and allows for direct charring of fractions. Examples given for separations on silica gel plates impregnated with silver sulfamate include cholesterol esters and fatty acid methyl esters.
