ESR Study of Silver Specks in Silver Halide Crystals

抄録

A narrow single ESR line has been observed at room temperature in quenched silver halide crystals from the melt. The signal was eliminated when the samples were quenched in a chlorine atmosphere. It is attributed to the conduction electron spin resonance (CESR) of excess silver atoms decomposed from the residual silver compounds in the melt. The silver atom seems to be substituted for a halogen ion and behaves like a photographic sensitivity speck.
