Abstract
Landau's theory of second‐order phase transitions is applied for an investigation of inhomogeneous ferromagnetic materials near the Curie temperature. Using micromagnetic concepts it is shown that fluctuations of the Landau parameters as well as magnetostrictive and dipolar interactions lead to deviations from the so‐called linear Arrott plots. In addition it is found that these latter interactions give rise to transversal components of the spontaneous magnetization.
