<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The infra‐red spectra of nitrile complexes of titanium and zirconium tetrahalides have been measured with sodium chloride and potassium bromide optics. The comparitive shifts in the absorption bands obtained on passing from the spectrum of the pure ligands to the complexes are discussed.</jats:p>
