Methodology of studying intonation: from data collection to data analysis

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>This chapter describes the methodology of studying intonation from data collection (in the lab and in the field) to data analysis within the Autosegmental-Metrical model of intonational phonology. For data analysis, the chapter provides ways to characterize intonational tunes in terms of distinctive tonal categories and prosodic structure.</jats:p>
