<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Mathematical procedures are given in order to correlate the conformational parameters of the structural unit with the geometrical parameters of a polymer chain. The expressions are developed for chains with <jats:italic>tc, s2</jats:italic> or <jats:italic>ti</jats:italic> symmetries and apply to a structural unit with an unlimited number of chain atoms.</jats:p>
