<jats:p><jats:bold>4H‐3,1‐Benzoxathiines from Benzothiete and Carbonyl Compounds</jats:bold></jats:p><jats:p>The <jats:italic>o</jats:italic>‐quinoid 8‐π electron system <jats:bold>2</jats:bold>, generated by thermal ring opening of benzothiete (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>) undergoes [8π + 2π] cycloaddition reactions with electron‐deficient carbonyl compounds <jats:bold>3</jats:bold>. In accordance with the frontier orbital theory, 4<jats:italic>H</jats:italic>‐3,1‐benzoxathiines (<jats:bold>4</jats:bold>) are obtained in a regioselective manner.</jats:p>
