Description

Abstract
The appearance of the temporal step pattern of the spatial sine‐wave (frequency 1.2 cpd) confirmed that the visual information pathways consist of two systems with different time response (they are assumed to be spatial and temporal dominant systems). In the foveal vision, the sensitivity shows a peak of about 50 ms exposure time. On the other hand, in the peripheral vision, the sensitivity reaches a peak of about 64 ms exposure time and shows a recess around 110 ms. These results at least indicate that there are two parallel pathways of difference temporal frequency bandwidths at the retinal periphery.
