<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Twofold coupling of 4,7‐dibromobenzothiadiazole (I) with the anion (II) of malononitrile and subsequent oxidation yield the thiadiazolotetracyanoquinodimethane (III) which forms highly conductive charge‐transfer complexes with tetrathiafulvalenes.</jats:p>
