<jats:p>Nonstationary solutions of linear Fokker–Planck equations with arbitrary drift and diffusion coefficients are derived. Using Lie algebraic techniques the time-evolution operator is given as a product of exponentials of the differential operators appearing in the equations.</jats:p>
