<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Two new cembranoid diterpenes, diepoxysarcophytonene (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>) and sarconphytonol (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>), were isolated from the Hainan soft coral <jats:italic>Sarcophyton latum</jats:italic>. Their structures including relative stereochemistry were established by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques. Compound <jats:bold>1 </jats:bold>showed weak inhibitory activity against COX‐2 <jats:italic>in vitro</jats:italic> at the concentration of 10<jats:sup>−5</jats:sup> µmol·L<jats:sup>−1</jats:sup> with the inhibitory rate of 55%.</jats:p>
