説明

<jats:p>Phase-speed degeneracy results in striking distortions in the shape of the acoustic slowness surface of anisotropic solids. It is shown here that in the general case of conical degeneracy, there can be up to three pairs of lines of zero Gaussian curvature passing between the two adjacent slowness sheets through the point of degeneracy.</jats:p>
