<jats:p>Heart failure (<jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HF</jats:styled-content>) is an epidemic in healthcare worldwide, including Asia. It appears that <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HF</jats:styled-content> will become more serious in the near future, with the epidemiological transition and ageing of the population. However, in contrast to Western countries, information on <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HF</jats:styled-content> epidemiology is still limited in Asia, particularly in South Asia. In this review, we will briefly summarize available information regarding the current and future burden of <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HF</jats:styled-content> in Asia, which indicates the importance of both primary prevention of underlying diseases of <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HF</jats:styled-content> and secondary prevention, including management of ischaemic <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HF</jats:styled-content>, <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HF</jats:styled-content> with preserved <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">EF</jats:styled-content>, and <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HF</jats:styled-content> in the elderly.</jats:p>
