説明

Abstract Models and methods suggested to describe one-dimensional (1D) systems are reviewed. The role of interchain coupling is studied within the framework of microscopic and phenomenologic approaches. In particular, the dependence of critical temperatures on kinetic transverse coupling is considered. The influence of commensurability effects on phase diagram and transition temperatures is discussed. The Peierls transition in a nearly commensurate quasi-1D conductor is considered for strongly and weakly corrugated Fermi surfaces. The impurity effect in 1D models and quasi-1D systems is reviewed and the significance of the theoretical results is discussed in the light of some experimental data.
