<p>A novel single-phased tunable emitting phosphor MgY2Si3O10: Bi3+, Eu3+ has been synthesized by conventional high temperature solid-state method. Upon the 344 nm excitation, the energy transfer from Bi3+(<sc>i</sc>) to Bi3+(<sc>ii</sc>) and both Bi3+ ions to Eu3+ has been investigated in detail.</p>
