<jats:p>A new method dispensing with the use of radioactive tracers has been developed for measurement of volume self-diffusion. The method is based upon the relationship of the rate of sintering of metallic wires to the coefficients of self-diffusion. The values of the self-diffusion coefficients for silver as measured by this method are in good agreement with those obtained by the radioactive tracers method.</jats:p>
