Description

It is shown that the probability distribution of sinusoidal sound pressure in a room depends on the distance from the source to the observation point, the absorption coefficient and the area of the absorbing material in the room, and the directivity factor of the source. An approximate formula is given for the probable sound-pressure deviations in a poor reverberant room from the theoretical values in free space.
