<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Some all‐<jats:italic>trans</jats:italic> 1,3,5‐heptatrienyl and 6‐ethoxycarbonyl‐1,3,5‐hexatrienyl substituted heterocyclic compounds have been synthesized, employing Horner reactions of heterocyclic aldehydes or heterocyclic methylphosphonates.</jats:p>
