Abstract
The recent development and future prospects of trace elemental speciation by the online coupling of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry to separation methods, such as liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, supercritical fluid chromatography, and capillary electophoresis, are discussed. The extraction and derivatization methods of organometallic compounds in environmental and biological samples are also critically re-viewed.
