  • Residual in Latitude Variations Derived from Doppler Tracking at a Single Station

抄録

YUMI et al. (1979) showed that the Doppler observations derived from the Topographic Center, U.S.A. do not show any local behaviors in latitude variations, which are found in the astronomical observations. The different behavior of the Doppler latitude is studied by separating the passes of the satellite into the north and the south bound cases and by finding a systematic error of the mean anomaly (along track error) between two passes. Comparison between the astronomical latitude and the Doppler latitude shows that the astronomical latitude decrease (increases) when the star whose right ascension equals to that of the ascending (descending) node of TRANSIT satellite 30190 is observed in the annual astronomical program. Improvement of models of the geo potential might be responsible for differences of the Doppler latitude between the north and the south bound passes. Variation of latitude obtained by the Doppler observation shows a diurnal variation with the period of 23h56m35s and 24h3m39s in sidereal time.
