Description

In this research, we developed a new warning system to let the driver know the existence of invisible pedestrian at the intersection.The best timing of the warning voice given to the driver was 3 or 4 seconds before the time when the car entered the intersection. When driver heard the warning, he/she released the accelerator and put the braking pedal earlier. From the results of this study, we conclude that giving the warning 4 seconds before the entrant of the can into the intersection is the most appropriate timing for warning.
