Inkjet technology is useful for short-run printing in terms of the printing cost and the delivery time because it is a no-plate printing technology. Three types of inks-aqueous, solvent, and ultraviolet (UV) -are used for practical inkjet printing. In particular, the UV ink has some advantages such as fast drying time and wide substrates; therefore, UV inkjet printing is considerably popular for a broad range of applications, including wide-format sign graphics, industrial graphics, and label printing. However, improved elongation, chemical resistance, and robustness of an image printed by using the UV ink are required to meet the various market requirements. The future technology development of the UV ink, inkjet head, UV lamp, and a combination of these three components of the Inkjet printer will help to meet the market requirements.
