Abstract

The hydrogenation of edible oil is a basic means for converting liquid oils into plastic fats at oil and fat companies. <BR>Fundamental hydrogenation and current continuous reactor using a fixed-bed catalyst and supercritical process are discussed. New types of nickel and precious metal catalysts and current developments in reactors are presented.
