Abstract
The ratio of the energy consumption at a fuser is dominant in the electrophotographic system such as a laser printer or a copier, hence its reduction becomes urgent design matters. In particular the conventional fuser needed continuous warming because a warm-up time was long, consequently, energy consumption during the standby state held a large ratio. To meet the request, the energy-saving technology of the fuser pushed forward the Quick Start to realize the wait free process by means of reducing heat capacity of the fuser components. The tide of the energy saving began with a B & W printer at first, spread through the colour copying machine whose structure has been simplified by the evolution of the toner afterwards.<br>In this report, it is commented on the evolution of the energy saving fuser with the advance of the toner and the demands of the times while, at the same time, surveying its history.
