Abstract
The Effect of anionic surfactant on the defibrillation of chrysotile asbestos with different harshness from various deposits was studied.<BR>The degree of defibrillation had correlation with the harshness of chrysotile. Soft samples are opened highly, but harsh samples are not. From this result mentioned above and from the adsorption isotherms for undefibrillated samples of soft and harsh chrysotile, it was concluded that the defibrillation property of chrysotile with anionic surfactant is influenced by the bonding strength between the fibrills, and samples with strong bonding strength are difficult to defibrillate, and vice versa.
