Description

The effects of grinding factors of a high-flow circulation-type beads mill on the diameter of ground calcium carbonate powder were investigated. The operation mode of the beads mill was circulation grinding. The dependences of median diameter of ground powder on grinding time and specific energy with various experimental variables were investigated, such as bead diameter, filling rate of beads, agitator peripheral speed, bead materials, solids concentration of slurry, and particle size of a feeding raw material. As a result, (especially from the viewpoint of the specific energy,) the grinding efficiency of the beads mill was found to be greatly influenced by bead diameter and solids concentration of slurry.
