Abstract
We have studied the synthesis of polysiloxane-acrylic hybrid polymers, and have developed new UV curable inorganic-organic hybrid resins. The evaluation results for the hybrid resins and films indicate that the resins have high weather resistance and dirt shedding property. These properties suggest the possibility that these resins can be applied as surface-protective coatings for exterior use plastic materials, for example building components or automobile parts. In this review, we discuss the properties of new UV curable inorganic-organic hybrid resins and their applications.
