Abstract
<p>Remote maintenance systems are inevitable in fusion reactors to perform maintenance in the vacuum vessel, which must be high-level radiation environment. National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology is procuring the ITER Blanket Remote Handling System and carrying out R&D activities on unachieved remote-maintenance technologies such as pipe welding.</p>
