Abstract

Interactions between a dislocation and other imperfections were re-evaluated using a continuously distributed dislocation model. Dislocations and a misfit defect were chosen as typical examples of imperfections. The use of a continuously distributed dislocation model avoids the singularity problem that arises in classical dislocation theory, and thus it always yields a finite magnitude for the interaction. Therefore, the use of a continuously distributed dislocation model enables the evaluation of the magnitude of the interaction near the core of a dislocation where the classical singular dislocation model becomes impossible to apply.
