Description
In this report, the immunochemical properties of LDH-bound immunoglobulins in nine cases (five cases bore the complexes with IgA (K), two with IgG (L), one with IgG (K) obtained from pleural effusion ano one with IgA-IgG mixture) are described.
Specific binding to LDH-2 and LDH-3 was found in the case of IgA (K) type and that to LDH-4 and LDH-5 in IgG (L) type.
Furthermore, LDH-1, LDH-4 and LDH-5 were found in IgG (K) pleural effusion case and all LDH isozymes in IgA-IgG mixture case.
Immunoglobulins were separated from each insolubilized LDH isozyme using sepharose 4B activated by cyanogen bromide.
The immunoglobulin obtained from insolubilized LDH-2 reacted with both LDH-2 and LDH-3 by thin layer gel filtration. Likewise, that from insolubilized LDH-5 was found to react with both LDH-1 and LDH-5.
Therefore, in the present cases, it may be considered that there are a common antigenetic site in LDH-2 and LDH-3 molecules and also another common antigenetic site in LDH-1 and LDH-5.
