Abstract

e-Research is a general term for scientific activities with the method of sharing and reproduce data on the network. e-Research projects and services in humanities and social science have been carried out, which those in natural science predate. Current projects and services in Japan suggest possible change of roles of academic libraries, as data curation and preservation are essential. Historians of science may well contribute to e-Research.
