Abstract

It has been considered that the free newspaper published by the newspaper company in the 1970s takes initiative of the free newspaper business. This study provides three reasons why the newspaper company published free newspaper. First point of this study is a change of the income structure of the newspaper company. Second is the network of new family in the outer city that is a distribution area of the free newspaper. Last is the "trust" created by editorial advertising for the free newspaper.
