Abstract
The prevalence of electronic journals has brought diverse impacts to the world of scholarly journals, which seems to be ever-increasingly complicated. In order to keep up with the rapid migration from print to online, it is of paramount importance to understand the topics related to electronic journals. Among the topics, this article covers FTE-based pricing and Tiered pricing which are specific to electronic journals, the impacts on print subscriptions by electronic journals, issues related to backfiles of electronic journals and archival access after cancellation, long-term preservation models of electronic journals (Portico and LOCKSS), and subscriptions via library consortia.
