Description
Electronic books seem to have already entered into a popularization stage. The number of people reading books on a cellphone is growing. Cross-medea utilization of works first realized as books printed on paper are active. There are many animations, movies, computer games, and character goods based on books. In the age of cross-media, careful management and fair adjustment of copyrights are important. Electronic books can easily be electronically duplicated and distributed through various means of telecommunication. It is said that the adoption of a DRM (digital rights management) system is necessary to prevent illegal reproduction of digital contents. Although currently distritubed electronic books mostly adopt lenient DRM systems to facilitate readers' convenience, more versatile DRM systems are expected to be developed.
