Description
In urban area, lands are divided into small lots like housing. In comparison with patch area like homogeneous large green, landscape with small lots is defined as the "matrix". Although cool island phenomenon of large green is well known, the source of temperature-moderating function may not be limited to large green. Aggregation of small elements in matrix may also have such function. Knowing that the correlation value between air temperature and spatial elements varies by seasonal and diurnal fluctuation, this research aimed to understand the impact of aggregation of small elements to air temperature by analyzing the correlation. After lands were classified into some environmental compartments, to which representing indicators were set, the cluster analysis was conducted to confirm if a concluded cluster is consistent with the original classification. It was implied that aggregation of small elements has distinctive reactivity to air temperature.
