Abstract
This research aims to clarify the characteristics and transitions of rural cultural landscape in greenbelt area of Dujiangyan city of Sichuan Province, and the following 3 points has been clarified. Firstly, on the land use, the proportion of "Linpan" and farmland area is 1/4, and the average area of "Linpan" is around 1ha. The average length of main irrigation waterway in greenbelt area is 4km and it connects 5 "Linpans" averagely. All the 374 "Linpans" could be mainly categorized to 3 types according to functions, and they are "tourism oriented Linpan", "hollowed Linpan" and "traditional Linpan". Secondly, the cultural landscape is shaped based on the artificial irrigation system of Dujiangyan, and it is composed mainly by 3 elements of "Linpan", farmland and waterways. Thirdly, the changes of lifestyle and production are the primary factor of cultural landscape transitions, and the change of vegetation species is most remarkable.
