Abstract

After the enforcement of 'Act on Special Measures concerning Assistance in Self-Support of Homeless', the homeless use pattern of urban open space has changed dramatically. With the corporation of outreach service NPO, we have constructed the personal database of about 2600 homeless people in Kawasaki city. Adding the case study of exclusion of homeless people, we could trace the movement of homeless person and the transition of urban open space. As results, 1 two types of homelessness living correspond to place of sleeping are observed. 2 The segregation for homelessness in terms of space and time is being carried out throughout the urban open space.
