Abstract
This study takes two textile wholesale districts in transition and aims to understand the spatial transformation and the revitalization activities in the districts, and the relation between them. Higashi-Kanda/Bakuro-cho is famous for "Central East Tokyo" which was an art event in the vacant buildings or rooms from 2003 to 2010. Nishiki 2 is known for low carbon community development and renovation projects "Yebisu building project". It is found that Nishiki 2 is hollowing-out with increasing surface parking lots while Higashi-Kanda/Bakuro-cho is residentializing with urban housing developments, which has relation to the process of the revitalization activities in the two districts.
