抄録

A questionnaire survey of returned children in Japan was conducted together with supplementary interviews as part of the International Comparative Study on Children's Play Environments. Play and play spaces Schoolyards need special attention in planning since they were well used beside gardens and parks. Regional differences were obvious in playing spaces as well as play friends. Cities aboad were more pleasant than Japanese counterparts primarily because of the size and number of playing space, which shows the policy importance of securing playing spaces in quantitative terms.
