Abstract

After the May 12, 2008 earthquake in Wenchuan, one of the disaster affected area which is called Shuimo Town started the reconstruction by developing their tourism industry. Because of the earthquake, the local government had decided to develop tourism instead of former chemical industry. However, owing to the lack of experience and the change of living environment and people’s lifestyle, it is shown that many problems occur in the way of the tourism development. In order to solve the problems, we investigate the background and the process of the reconstruction and inquire the residents of the store operational status and living conditions by asking questionnaire. And through the investigation, we evaluate the effect on the reconstruction work and find the problems in residents’ daily life. Finally, we make some suggestion to solve the problems but also improve the living condition and the shop operation for the future.
