Abstract

The mechanism of the accumulation continuation in the Akihabara area is to diversify a circumference type of industry. This is realized by adding "new work" to "old work" in local industry. In the Akihabara area, the industrial structure united with the time and accumulation area were formed, and the competitive power to other areas was able to be secured because the feature of the whole area becomes clear. The physical environment of the area supporting diversity is the following four points. For future development, these are wanted to evolve more. 1) "Mixed use" is realized although it is the limited area, function, and use. 2) Existence of the small block of a scale. 3) Existence of "old buildings" and mixture of the buildings built ages differ. 4) Fixed population density.
