- A Case Study of Coastal Plants about Recognition and Admiration Style from Books on Natural History in Edo-era

Abstract
To explained the relationships between human and seashore through coastal plants, we investigated the coastal plants about recognition and admiration style from books on natural history in Edo-era. As a result, coastal plants were recognized from many people, and they made use as medicine, foods, and other materials. About admiration style of coastal plants, in the garden, they were admired to matched size of their garden like Bonsai .In the Seashore side, they were liked the majestic shape and positively planted rare species. Moreover, unorganized plants were planted on the beach and many species carried away to the gardening for citizen. Accordingly, it has been shown that we need to know coastal environment due to plant for a suitable environment.
