Recently, endoscopic submucoal dissection method (ESD) has been widely applied for the treatment of early gastrointestinal cancer, and the true value of so-called conventional methods including endoscopic aspiration mucosectomy (EAM) tend to be underestimated. Moreover, an appropriate procedure of EAM has not been standardized yet today. It is because that operators don't follow the standard process of the procedure. The author have described the proper steps and knack of the procedure for EAM in detail in this article. The EAM undergone in accordance with the authentic procedure will prove its true value and the author believe it will be still chosen positively as powerful tool for surgical endoscopy today.
