Abstract

The author compares some probability distributions which have the possibility of describing bibliometric phenomena by fitting the distributions for some bibliometric data used by predecessor. A inverse Gaussian-Poisson distribution shows best goodness of fit. And in turn, negative binomial, Borel-Tanner, zeta and Yule distributions are better fitting for data. And it is cralified that the sample variance of each data is strongly related to which the distribution fits with bibliometric data or not.
