Description
1. It is experimentally proved that there is no paralysis of the vasomotor centre in the anaphylactic shock.
2. Almost all of the peripheral (limbs) and visceral vessels (intestine, kidneys, lungs and brain) are constricted in the local anaphylactic test. The opinion that the fall of blood pressure in anaphylactic shock is to be attributed to the vaso-dilation of the splanchnic vessels seems to be baseless.
3. The sympathetic nerve of the sensitized animal shows a transitory increase of excitability after the application of antigen to it, while the vagus and motor nerves do not vary their excitability in the local anaphylactic test.
