Abstract
Ni2+xMn1−xGa powder of stoichiometric and non-stoichiometric compositions which was ground from arc melted ingots was investigated for the martensitic phase transformation. The mechanical grinding process resulted in lattice strain and decreased grain size, leading to the variation of X-ray diffraction profiles and the suppression of the martensitic transformation. But such stress-induced effect was observed to relieve from heat treatment.
